The TNVC/Magpul Dynamics Nightfighting class is an advanced LEO/MIL course focusing on the development of operational, technical and sustainment skills in high risk low light/no light environments. Throughout the class, shooters will be driven to integrate NODS (night operations devices) with advanced shooting techniques and intra-team communications in high stress live-fire scenarios. Before hitting the range, students will be given a NOD familiarization package including: NOD operations (controls, mounting, safety) and weapon configuration for low light/no light environments (flash hiders, IR lasers, VIS lasers).

Range work will include:

• NOD movement drills (walking, running, stairwells, obstacle navigation, tire change drills)
• Rapid threat acquisition and analysis
• Shooting on the move
• Multiple target engagement
• Strong and reaction side shooting
• Identifying targets utilizing ambient light/shadows while shooting/moving around obstacles with NODs
• Weapon malfunction and clearance in low/no light
• Natural and improvised shooting positions
• Adversaries with NVG capabilities
• Shooting from vehicles (client dependent)
• Individual and team confidence enhancement shooting packages
• Individual and team live fire stress courses

Primary Equipment

• TO/issue weapon with a mounted light and a minimum of 5 working magazines. (Sometimes magazines will make it in your dump bag and sometimes they won't. If they hit the ground they can become fouled, causing weapon malfunctions and time off the line.)
• A functioning secondary weapon system, and three working magazines with a weapon light.
• Handheld back-up light.
• Holster and magazine pouch(es) that will retain your equipment when moving. Student should capable of at l east running 4 primary and 3 secondary magazines.
• Cleaning kits and tools compatible with all weapon systems and optics are also a must.
• Spare batteries & bulbs for all lighting systems to minimize possible time off the line).
• A NOD/NVG with helmet/helmet mount and a mount for the TO/issue weapon.
• IR Laser | weapon mounted
• IR Beacon/Strobe

Additional Equipment

• IR Patch (optional)
• Spare batteries for all equipment
• Note pad and pen or pencil
• Ear pro (electronic preferred)
• Primary weapon sling, single point, or a good system that allows flexibility for transitions and reaction side weapon manipulations
• Weapons lube

Clothing:

• Clothing suited to strenuous type activity as well as being seasonally appropriate
• Eye pro, which wraps around
• Clear lenses for night shoots
• Foot wear suited for strenuous outdoor/indoor use
• Rain gear / cold weather gear (seasonal)
• Water hydrating device
• Knee and Elbow pads (optional)
• Gloves (optional)
