TNVC RDPII

Mini Red Dot Training Sight

$139.00

The TNVC RDP-II is an economically priced mini red dot sight used for training and range plinkers. Over the last several years, a lot of focus has been put on the mini red dot sights on the market and their applications in combat situations. While we have been extremely impressed with some of the sights in this category, we have noticed that there are many which, in our opinion, just do not stand up to the rigors of a real life gunfight. We have shattered several of the well-known polymer open-style sights and heavily damaged a few of the metal ones during training (better it happened there than on duty), and came to the realization that many of these sights were fine for drills and “fake world” training, but would not come with us in to harm’s way in the “real world.” Now, this is all well and good, except for the fact that each one of those shattered sights cost upwards of $500, each. This is where the RDP-II comes in.

After nine months of working with a manufacturer and several prototype revisions with different mounting solutions and LED’s, the RDP-II was ready. This economical red dot sight is a cost-friendly alternative to the expensive mini red dot sights on the market. The 3 MOA LED is very bright, even under direct sunlight and works off a photo sensor that automatically adjusts the brightness. This means the dot will not bloom indoors. One thing to note is that the photo sensor requires ambient light to work and will not function in extremely dark environments. The housing is machined aluminum and will stand up to moderate impact, but is not designed for combat operations.

We would like to stress that this sight was designed as an alternative to the fragile, yet relatively expensive mini red dot sights on the market. We do not recommend this sight for duty use or any situation where the user’s life may depend on the functionality of the sight. The RDP-II is designed for training and range work only.
