Tough Enough: Withstands a Shotgun blast from 16 feet (Remington 1187 Semi-Automatic 12 guage, 28” bbl, full choke) using Federal Heavy Load 12 guage 1 ¼ ounce #6 lead shot at 1300 fps ± 30 fps at 32.8 feet chronographed. 37 strikes, No penetration!

The SAWFLY Eyewear System addresses the major issues concerning ballistic glasses. Obviously, the lenses stand up to abuse (withstanding a direct shotgun blast). While we do not recommend getting shot in the face with a shotgun, it’s comforting to know that these lenses will stand up to it. The frame arms are thin and flexible, exponentially increasing comfort when worn in conjunction with electronic earpro headsets. Add in the ability to easily change lens configurations and you have a comprehensive Eye-Pro solution! This is the SAWFLY Military System. It is standard issue eyewear for the U.S. Army and APEL-approved.
